FAQs

FAQs

Are you accepting new clients?

Unfortunately, I am not taking new clients currently, and I do not maintain a waiting list.

Do you take insurance?

Currently I am a preferred provider for Aetna, Cigna, Regence, Premera, First Choice Health, and Kaiser Permanente (formerly Group Health), but please contact your insurance to double-check that I am covered with your particular plan.

If you have other insurance, I would be considered an “out-of-network provider” and you can very likely get reimbursed for some percentage of my fee.

Good Faith Estimates Notice:
• According to the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
• You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
• For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

Do you have evening appointments?

I do have some evening appointment times, although they do fill up quickly.  When I do have availability, it tends to be a day-time appointment spot.

What is your theoretical orientation?

I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist, and I use mindfulness and DBT skills and techniques in my work, as well as acceptance and commitment therapy.  I believe it is important to use evidence-based practices when developing a treatment plan for a client while also being flexible and creative in providing treatment.
